USMLE Step 3 Study Plan For Beginners
1. 1.5 to 2 Months of Average Study Time Needed. In case you are fresh with Step 2 CK , then you may need even less time, like a month. To be on the safer side, assume a minimum of 1-month of intense prep. If good scores are highly desired then a 1.5 months of intense prep followed by 2 weeks of Assessment tests !
2. UsmleWorld Rocks ! For Both - Questions and CCS
3. Topics like Geriatrics and Ethics : Swanson's Family Practice Review is good, since other sources don't do a good job for these topics
4. Reference Text-Book : The Good Old CMDT (I think most stuff on UW and Kaplan is taken from this Book ! CMDT = Current Medical Diagnosis & Treatment. It may look like a thick book - but trust me, the reading goes pretty fast and smooth :-)
The common experience of most people who took the exam say that Kaplan and Usmleworld work for up to 75% of the questions on the actual test. While Usmleworld CCS cases are right on target and very reliable.
A friend of mine who took the test 5 months ago said he stuck to Usmleworld (UW) Questions and First Aid for Step 3 and believes these two are enough for getting around 83rd-85th percentile scores...
Watch out this space for updates as I learn more :-)

Post Your Comment !Hey DD, another nice piece of work here, but you aint updated this article since u wrote it first...is there anything new about step3 prep books list for a very good score? say kaplan+swanson+UW? plz reply, thnx.
hi DD, what about Crush+Swanson+Uworld+FisherMCQs Combination?
i have heard that Kaplan step 3 is not helpful instead going through Kaplans step 2 again, is better.
